2019 Youth Flag Football Classes
Participants may register for the program through August 31. There is a $10 late fee if registering after that date. All registration stops September 10, 2019, unless program is full. During late registration, players will be assigned to teams only if and where spaces are available. Registration and payments can be made online, in house at the Portage or Maple branch or by phone 269.324.9622 ext. 423.G
The 2019 Youth Flag Football Emergency Form must be filled out and returned to the coach by the first practice.
Ages Pre-K and K
Players will develop social skills, character, and self-esteem while developing and learning the game of football. Each child will learn and play offense and defense every game throughout the season. Coaches will teach the YMCA core values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility, along with sportsmanship and teamwork.

LOCATION: Mayor's Riverfront Park at 251 Mills Street
The players' clinic will allow your athlete to work on offensive and defensive drills to prepare themselves for the season. Participants will also scrimmage.
Games are scheduled September 21 - October 26, 2019 and will be held at Woods Lake Elementary located on the corner of Whites Rd. and Oakland Dr AND Mayor's Riverfront Park located at 251 Mills Street. Early games will start at 8:30am and late games will start at 2:30pm. All teams will have 6 games throughout the season.
Teams may practice two days a week throughout the season. Practices will be no longer than 90 minutes. Teams may start practices the week of Labor Day and are normally held at local schools or neighborhood parks. Practices normally take place Monday - Thursday and will start no earlier than 5pm. Practices are selected by the Head Coach.

Financial assistance may be available based on family size and income. Applications are available at Member Services at each branch location. Proof of income is required.
Pictures will be taken during the season at the game site. You will receive information from your coach.
Team rosters are limited to no more than 12 players for participants registered by August 31. Players will be notified of their team placement from the head coach, as well as your practice time, day and location. Players are assigned to teams based on the school you attend or the area in which you live. We cannot guarantee special requests during late registration.
When registering, families can request one player, or coach, to be assigned to the same team. We cannot guarantee special requests during late registration.
The YMCA Flag Football program relies on volunteer coaches to make the program successful. If you would like to VOLUNTEER please indicate it on the registration form or contact the Youth Sports Director. COACHES MEETING is scheduled for 7:00pm, August 27 at Kalamazoo Parks and Recreation / Community Room located at 251 Mills St.
Participants will receive a team t-shirt that will be worn at all games. Players MUST wear a mouthpiece in order to participate in practices and games. During games and practices, watches and jewelry must be removed. Players who fail to remove jewelry and watches may not participate until it is removed.
